The lecture deals with current situation of the Roma/Gypsies in Europe. After setting the historical, cultural and social context the lecturer will present key aspects of Romani movement as well as policies and activities of European institutions, the World bank and UNDP. A concrete case study of Romani issues in the Czech Republic with focus on education will follow.
